instnt hub shows and controls, but doesn't automate anything itself. "Blinds closed when the PS5 turns on" is an automation in Home Assistant. That way all rules are in one place and you never search two systems for a mistake.
What's coming
Three blueprints for Home Assistant:
| Blueprint | What it does |
|---|---|
| Blinds while gaming | When the console turns on, the blinds close during the day and go halfway after sunset. When it turns off, they return to where they were, unless someone opened them further in the meantime. |
| Soundbar or amplifier follows the console | Turns a device on and off with the console. For devices with only a toggle button (infrared): a helper remembers the assumed state, and the button is only pressed when that state is wrong. |
| TV off after the console | When the console turns off, the TV turns off too, unless another device is still playing, such as the Apple TV. |
The same three also come as switches in the instnt hub integration; see The instnt hub integration.
What you can do now
Create the automation yourself in Home Assistant, with your console's on/off as the trigger. You can see which entity that is in the app under Settings › Companion, at PlayStation › Console power.
