The photo face shows photos from one album. You can choose your favourites, your own albums, shared iCloud albums, your own selection, or the Default pack that comes with the app. A shared album is handy: housemates add photos from their phones, and only what was shared on purpose ends up on the table.
Steps
- Swipe up from the bottom edge, put the photo face in the middle and tap Customize. The customize screen opens.
- Tap the OPTIONS tab at the top.
- The first time, iPadOS asks for access to your photos. Choose full access.
- Tap Source and Album.
- Choose Photos on the left for your own photos, or Photo packs for the photos that come with the app.
- Tap an album on the right, or Choose Individual Photos for your own selection.
- Tap the checkmark to save.
What else you can set
Under OPTIONS:
- Manage photos: order and exclude
- Photos on Screen: Automatic, Fill or Fit
- Live Photos and GIFs: from Still to On Appear and Leave
- One photo, don’t change, or how many seconds per photo
- Transition between photos
- Clock, People in Front of the Clock and Location and Date
You choose the layout, font and effect of the clock on the face itself: long-press the photo face and tap the clock. In that edit mode you can also drag the clock and put widgets at the bottom. With the corner you make the clock bigger, and taller too: the digits then stretch, like on the iPadOS lock screen.
Tap a photo on the face for previous, pause, next and hide.
Check
- Source and Album shows the album's name.
- The photo face cycles through photos from that album.
Not working?
The app has no access to your photos. Give it in the iPadOS Settings app, under instnt hub, and choose full access.
Tap it and allow access.
Check that shared albums are on in the Photos app on the iPad, and that the app has full access.
Under OPTIONS there is Restore … hidden photos.
